After School Programs

Everyone has a personal story to tell. WITS provides opportunities for storytelling and the skills needed to do it well.

WITS after-school programs nurture the growth of the imagination and awaken students to the adventures of language. While building writing and language proficiency, students develop important social skills and remain engaged in education. Quality after-school programs not only keep students safe, they help improve academic performance and raise self-confidence. WITS after-school workshops utilize active learning and interdisciplinary approaches to make writing enjoyable and relevant for every student.

Low-income students can thrive and grow through high-quality art education programs. WITS is committed to serving Houston youth wherever they are. In addition to schools, WITS has partnered with many area organizations to create original, site-specific programming, including:
