nabanner 2Many WITS writers teach the art of flash fiction or nano fiction because the genre encourages students to be concise and thoughtful.

The Fifth Annual NANO Prize is accepting entries of 300 words or less and awarding $500 to the first-place winner! All entrants will receive a one year subscription to NANO Fiction and winners will be announced in September.

NANO Fiction is a Houston-based literary journal. This year’s contest will be judged by Sean Lovelace. The entry fee is $15 for up to three shorts. Please visit the NANO Fiction submission manager to enter and to read about the guidelines. Deadline is August 15, 2013.
