Andrea White and Jemma Leech 10/29/08

Posted October 28, 2008 & filed under Notebook.

On Wednesday the Inprint Readings on the Green will feature Houston First Lady and WITS supporter Andrea White and WITS student Jemma Leech. This free event will take place at Discovery Green park on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 p.m. Information provided courtesy of Inprint.

ANDREA WHITE’s thoughtful new children’s novel Window Boy follows 12-year-old Sam Davis, as he moves from his home, where he has spent his life watching the world through his window, to Stirling Junior High. This is where Sam—a boy with cerebral palsy, who is only able to move his right hand and tongue—experiences the joys and pain of that world first hand. His constant companion, through it all, is none other than Winston Churchill.

JEMMA LEECH is an award-winning writer who is also a sixth-grader in Houston. Like the character Sam in Andrea White’s novel, Jemma also has cerebral palsy.  She attends the WITS summer camp every year.
