Gingerbread House

Posted December 18, 2013 & filed under Notebook.

I love to make gingerbread houses

because I can eat while I work

I use gummy bears and M&Ms

and lots of sprinkles everywhere

Marshmallows make perfect snow

and icing keeps it all together

except the year when it fell apart

Like Me

Posted November 25, 2013 & filed under Notebook.

Sunset shines really bright

Yellow and purple
Like me

Fluffy clouds are
Fluffy as my pillow

Ocean water moves with waves
Shine bright like the sun
Looks warm like coffee
Pretty like me

Big like a city and a basketball
Cute like me

Sunset shines like the beach
Smells good like a roasted turkey
On Thanksgiving Day

It is so beautiful
like me.

Problems

Posted October 24, 2013 & filed under Notebook.

I’ve got problems

with Halloween

I can’t ever decide

what I want to be

I mean, I want to

be Spiderman

AND a cowboy

AND a buffalo

AND SpongeBob.

My brain is fried

and I haven’t

even started

eating candy yet.

Green

Posted March 13, 2012 & filed under Notebook.

On St. Patrick’s Day I’m going to eat

green beans and play green games

I’ll sing green songs and drink green juice

It will rain down green money and we’ll

sail down a green river and all

be happy green like the Irish

Where I’m From

Posted December 17, 2010 & filed under Notebook.

I’m from the smell

of strawberry muffins

and blueberry waffles.

I’m from the sound

of the blue waves,

from missing my

cousin’s voice.

I’m from laughter

and every time

we chased him around.

I’m from the sweet

sunshine

that shines so bright.

I’m from Christmas

and nights when we

just have fun.

Orange and Black

Posted October 31, 2008 & filed under Notebook.

When I bite into an orange, the juice tickles my tongue.
Cockroaches crawl in the dark corners.

Pumpkins grow in big, beautiful pumpkin patches.
Bats fly in caves like the wind.

I see goldfish swimming in beautiful ponds.
The sky at night makes my eyes twinkle.

When I have a bite of tomato soup, it soothes my throat.
Licorice is my favorite candy of them all.

Tony the Tiger has the best cereal I’ve tasted.
Cows’ spots are the darkest shade of black I’ve ever seen.

Cheetos are the best chips I’ve eaten.
Car wheels speed down the long, black road.

When the sun sets, it is always the best time of the day.
I do the best tap dance with my tap shoes in my house.

Ronald McDonald’s hair is a very dark shade of red.
When I pick up dirt with my hands, it makes my fingers stick together.

Doxorubicin drips slowly into the IV to kill my cancer cells.
I have the best handwriting on a chalk board.

Carrots are my favorite type of vegetables.
I see black cats running to my house on Halloween night.

Halloween Poem

Black Cat

The witches screech
the pumpkins gloom
the black cat sleeks
silently through the dark
the ghosts glow in the night
the zombies stomp around
the black cat sleeks silently
through the dark

the werewolves growl
the goblins moan
the black cat sleeks silently
through the dark
