If I Were Power

If I were power, I would

be the working solar system, the beaming

sun on a hot day, the toothpaste

killing germs in my mouth, the hot in

hot chips, the H in hot wings,

the battery in the clock, the embalming

fluids in a dead person’s body, the muscles

in Lance Armstrong’s legs while in his

hardest bike race ever, the sling shot that makes

Bart of the Simpson’s popular, the seasoning

in chicken bouillon, the strong smell in

nail remover, the spinach that makes Popeye strong

in all of his shows, the brain in Miss Atwell’s head,

the muscle in Mrs. Aab’s hand.  You know what?

If I were power, I would be everywhere.

Power to begin can inspire
a whole new thing.
You can taste the good life
anytime you want.
