Then Three More Trees

Posted March 25, 2009 & filed under Notebook.

Joined the first tree and asked, “Can we share our hopes and dreams too?”
“I’ll start,” said the fourth tree. “When I get bigger I want to be a huge mansion and have very rich people live in me and admire me.”
The fifth tree said, “I want to be a torah with a beautifully decorated cover and be read every week and be considered holy.”
Finally the sixth tree said, “I want to be a number chart to remind kids the order of the numbers and what numbers are.”
And the third tree stepped in and said, “I think you should go with my idea. All of your hopes are good—but being yourself—just as you are right now—is better.”
